Our client, Castleblaney Plant Hire Limited t/a Monaghan Hire based in Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan, is currently seeking Motor Mechanics for immediate start for their two locations in Co. Monaghan. Key Responsibilities & Duties To carry out servicing, diagnostics and repair work on a wide variety of vehicles and small plant equipment used within our hire fleet To maintain the safety, performance and reliability of machinery and supporting smooth operations across sites Perform routine servicing and maintenance on diesel and petrol engines, small plant equipment, and company vehicles. Diagnose and repair faults in engines, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems. Conduct pre-hire inspections and post-hire checks to ensure equipment is in full working order. Maintain service records and complete job cards accurately and on time. Liaise with the Workshop Manager and other team members to prioritise repair work and minimise downtime. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety standards. Identify and report any issues that may affect equipment safety or customer satisfaction. Occasionally assist with on-site breakdowns or emergency repairs when required. Key Requirements – Skills, Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Motor Mechanic in a previous role. Experience in a plant hire company is a plus No formal qualifications are required, but a certification relevant to the role is a plus Ability to perform all job responsibilities listed above Proven experience working with plant equipment, commercial vehicles, or agricultural machinery Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A proactive and reliable attitude with attention to detail. Experience in a plant hire or construction environment. Familiarity with hydraulic systems and heavy-duty components. Basic welding or fabrication skills.
