The Office of Public Works (OPW) is offering training opportunities for Apprentices in the Craft of Stonecutting & Stonemasonry at the following locations: Kilkenny National Monuments, Mallow National Monuments District, Killarney National Monuments and Athenry National Monuments.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements 

Candidates must at the Closing Date, 
•	Candidates must be eighteen years old, on or before the closing date, Monday 9th February 2026 and 
•	Have access to transport in order to get to work sites in the areas covered by the District to which they are assigned.

Minimum Educational Qualifications
The minimum educational requirements are:

1.	Grade D in five subjects in the Department of Education & Skills Junior Certificate Examination or an *approved equivalent.
or
2.	The successful completion of an approved Pre-Apprenticeship course
or
3.	Three years’ work experience gained over sixteen years of age in a relevant designated industrial activity as SOLAS shall deem acceptable.

*It has been determined that the 2020 or 2021 State Certificate and School Report provided to students who were due to complete their examinations in 2020 or 2021 will be deemed to be an ‘approved equivalent’ as per the eligibility requirements.
