Event management for the yearly research symposiums for the wider project team and other events/workshops will be a key focus for the postholder.

Term: Fixed term contract to 31 August 2029

Programme Overview
Powering Research Innovation for Sustainable Manufacturing (PRISM) is a cross border project which is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme and managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
Manufacturers are increasingly recognising the significant financial & environmental benefits to be achieved by the introduction of sustainable product development and manufacturing practices. Powering Research & Innovation for Sustainable Manufacturing (PRISM) will harness commercially focused R&I expertise from the Programme area to drive decarbonisation in 3 clusters in the Advanced Manufacturing Sector: (1) Mineral Processing: (2) Polymer Processing; (3) Agrifood. PRISM will support SMEs to accelerate the development of low carbon products & processes (8 per cluster) which decarbonise their respective manufacturing processes, thus improving economic and environmental performance.

PRISM will be led by South West College (SWC) and each cluster has been selected on the basis of sectoral R&I capabilities & expertise of the lead Research Organisations, Queens University Belfast (QUB), South West College (SWC), and North West Regional College (NWRC). The considerable decarbonisation Research and Innovation expertise of Atlantic Technological University (ATU) & Dublin City University (DCU) will be deployed across all 3 clusters, maximising the cross border added value of PRISM.

Cavan Innovation Technology Centre (CITC) will coordinate a dissemination programme to maximise tri-sectoral uptake of PRISM Research & Innovation developments. PRISM is designed to deploy targeted decarbonisation R&I expertise within 24 SMEs across the 3 key sectors to result in either or both:
(i)	Development of new low carbon products;
(ii)	Process improvement designed to result in reduced energy requirements and
 	CO2 emissions abatement detailed in a bespoke decarbonisation plan.
This will result in economic growth in the form of increased domestic revenue generation & export levels. It will also result in decreased energy consumption and CO2 emissions. PRISM will deliver the following benefits to participating SMEs: (1) increased profitability; (2) reduced energy consumption & expenditure; (3) risk reduction related to climate change, resource scarcity & regulatory changes; (4) enhanced brand reputation; (5) a more sustainable workforce.
