First Year Apprentice Vacancy Are you interested in a career in engineering and looking for an alternative to the traditional university route? Clandillon Civil Consulting (CCC) is partnering with Atlantic Technological University (ATU) to appoint, support and train an individual to become a future engineer through a recognised apprenticeship programme, equivalent to either an NFQ Level 6 Higher Certificate in Engineering or NFQ Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering. We are seeking two apprentices to join our team as Apprentice Civil Engineers. The successful candidates will work across a range of transport and active travel infrastructure projects including roads, greenways and junctions upgrades as well as water-related projects such as flood-relief and drainage works. About the Company CCC is an Irish civil engineering consultancy that, through its work with many of Ireland’s biggest civil engineering contractors, has been involved in some of Ireland’s largest infrastructure projects including the N17N18 Gort to Tuam Motorway, Luas Cross City, N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin, N8 Dunkettle Interchange and most recently, the Bus Connects - Liffey Valley to City Centre scheme. Due to continued success and growth of the business, along with our commitment to training and development of future engineers, we are engaging in the Civil Engineer Apprenticeship Programme. Apprentice Civil Engineer - The Role Upon successful application and interview, you will: * Learn about design, construction and project management through assisting our graduate and senior engineers in civil engineering projects. * Undertake in-house and external training, in conjunction with your remote studies with ATU. * Employ new skills developed from training on projects under the guidance of our Senior Engineers. * Carry out site walkovers with our Senior Engineers to examine engineering and environmental constraints associated with new projects at feasibility and constraints stage, observing construction processes, safety protocols and quality control measures. * Maintain accurate project records and assist and support engineers in same, developing report writing and communication skills. * Assist senior engineers in the production to technical drawings. * Any other duties, as deemed necessary, that fall within the remit and level of the position. What You Need – The Skills, Competencies and Requirements * Leaving Certificate or equivalent with strong maths and/or science focus preferable. * Acceptance to the Level 6 or Level 7 Civil Engineering apprenticeship programme at ATU. * Strong literacy, verbal and numeracy skills. * Good IT/ computer skills. * Positive attitude and willingness to learn with a passion for engineering. * Commitment to attend ongoing training development between on-site college lectures / lab days, online classes and office throughout each year. * Current and ongoing right to work in the Republic of Ireland.For more information please see apprenticeship.ie
