Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

We are actively looking for someone who enjoys meeting people. This placement is an ideal fit for someone interested in building a career in the tourism or heritage sector. You don’t need prior expertise in the tapestry’s history — just the enthusiasm and ability to learn it. Within this role you will be the first point of contact for visitors to the Exhibition Centre, and you will engage with them and guide them through the exhibition experience. If you have a genuine interest in the tourism sector this role could be for you.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Welcome visitors, provide exhibition information, and handle ticketing and payments.
Deliver engaging guided tours and assist visitors using self-guided tools such as headsets and QR-based content.
Support group visits by providing person-led tours when required.
Work as part of the Ros Tapestry team and assist with additional tasks connected to the exhibition’s day-to-day operations.

Desirable Skills & Attributes (Training will be Provided)

Strong people skills with the confidence to interact, guide, and engage visitors of all ages.
Can communicate with ease, and has the curiosity to dive into the stories behind the Ros Tapestry.
An Interest in history and willingness to learn the stories depicted in the Ros Tapestry.
Practical ability with Word, Excel, email, internet tools, and general office applications.
Social media skills for creating, posting, and managing promotional content.
