Job Title: HGV Technician

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Reports To: Workshop Manager / Service Manager

Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent

Job Summary:
The HGV Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring all work is completed to high standards and in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. This role requires a skilled and motivated individual who can work effectively as part of a team and has a strong understanding of HGV systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of HGVs, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
Conduct vehicle inspections and diagnostics using modern tools and equipment.
Complete preventative maintenance tasks and maintain accurate service records.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults and implement effective solutions.
Ensure all work adheres to safety and quality standards.
Liaise with Workshop Manager and team members to ensure efficient workflow.
Keep up-to-date with advancements in vehicle technology and industry standards.
Adhere to health and safety guidelines in line with company policies.

Key Requirements:
Qualifications: Fully qualified HGV Technician with a relevant technical qualification
Experience: Proven experience in HGV maintenance, diagnosis, and repair.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems, diagnostics tools, and vehicle inspection procedures.
Licenses: Valid driving license desired, HGV license preferred - - however this is not essential
Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of relevant health and safety practices in a workshop environment.
Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively with team members and management.
Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and implement repairs efficiently and accurately.
Preferred Skills:

Experience with brands such as [e.g., Renault Trucks, Volvo Trucks] is an advantage.
Familiarity with diagnostic equipment and software specific to HGVs.
Knowledge of current safety standards and practices.
