Kitchen Porter – Hospital & Healthcare Catering | Dublin 9

3Q Recruitment is recruiting Kitchen Porters to support a healthcare catering kitchen in Dublin 9. The role involves maintaining kitchen hygiene and supporting food service operations for patients, staff and visitors.

This position is suited to candidates with experience in kitchen porter, catering assistant or food service roles who are seeking daytime hours and ongoing work in a structured healthcare environment.

The Role

You will work as part of a healthcare catering team, supporting the safe and efficient running of the kitchen. The role involves working closely with chefs and catering staff to ensure hygiene and food safety standards are maintained at all times.

Main Duties

Clean and maintain kitchen areas, equipment and work surfaces
Wash dishes, cookware and service equipment
Assist with basic food preparation such as peeling and chopping
Support the set-up and restocking of ward pantries, trolleys and beverage stations
Record temperatures and assist with HACCP food safety checks
Follow infection control and hygiene procedures
Work with chefs, catering assistants and ward staff to support daily service

Requirements

6–12 months’ experience as a Kitchen Porter, Catering Assistant or similar role
Experience in a hospital or healthcare kitchen is desirable
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP
Legal right to work in Ireland and ability to complete Garda Vetting
Ability to provide five years of verifiable work references
Reliable and able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Good teamwork and communication skills

Pay & Conditions

€17.53 per hour
Double pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays
Daytime shifts only (approximately 7:00am–6:30pm)
Rostered Monday to Sunday, depending on service requirements
