We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join our Toolroom team at our Longford manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, and repair of injection moulds supporting a high-volume, technically demanding manufacturing environment.
Key Requirements:
 Time served with a toolmaker producing injection mold.
 Previous experience in an injection mold making / mold maintenance environment.
 knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, sparking and fitting.
 Ability to weld.
 Good knowledge in mold maintenance and experience of supporting a high-volume manufacturing environment.
 Previous experience in the manufacture and/or repair/maintenance of the following mold types would be a distinct advantage.
 Hot Runner molds.
 Valve gated molds.
 Good understanding of the injection molding process.
Key Responsibilities
 Examine drawings and specifications to determine appropriate methods and sequences of operations
 Mark out reference points using measuring instruments and tools such as punches, rules, and squares
 Operate hand and machine tools to shape workpieces to specifications and check machining accuracy
 Assemble prepared parts, check alignment using micrometres, optical projectors, and other measuring equipment, and adjust as necessary
 Repair damaged or worn tools
 Responsible for the maintenance of all injection moulds within the company, ensuring they are maintained to standard specifications
 Compile and maintain standard specifications and procedures for each mould
 Monitor all existing moulds to ensure conformance to established standards
 Work closely with Process Engineers to troubleshoot mould-related issues
 Support a high-volume manufacturing environment
 In conjunction with approved toolmakers, research, develop, and implement new processes or systems for mould manufacture and maintenance under the direction of the Toolroom Manager
 Review systems regularly with Process Engineers, Group Leaders, and the Quality Department to ensure ongoing compliance
 Perform additional duties as requested by the Toolroom Manager.
