This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
Caretaker Assistant Royal Tara Gold Club are currently looking for applicants for the role of Caretaker Assistant under the Work Placement Experience Programme. The participant will join our team and learn how a busy Club House and its surrounding grounds are managed day‑to‑day. This placement is ideal for someone who wants to build confidence, gain hands‑on experience, and develop practical skills in a supportive environment. You will be working alongside our House Convenor and caretaking team, who will guide you as you learn. This is a training and experience role and participants will be fully supported throughout the placement.
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. Formal Training • Introduction to building care and facilities management • Safe use of tools, equipment, and materials • Basic maintenance and upkeep procedures • Health & safety awareness and safe working practices Informal training • Shadowing experienced staff as they manage the Club House and grounds • How to work with external contractors and suppliers • Understanding building systems such as heating, lighting, and alarms • Learning how to identify issues before they become problems • Building communication and teamwork skills through day to day interaction
