Templemichael Nursing Home Limited t/a Laurel Lodge Nursing Home are seeking Health Care Assistants for Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Templemichael Glebe, Longford, N39 XE92 . We are expanding our team of caring, empathetic and reliable Healthcare Assistants. We are looking for individuals to join our teams on a full time basis. Purpose of the Role The Healthcare Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to the residents. Laurel Lodge Nursing Home caters for respite, convalescent, short-term, long-term and palliative care. Key responsibilities of our Healthcare Assistants: Supporting the nursing staff and team in delivering quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents Getting to know residents’ interests and needs providing attention, support and companionship Deliver a high standard of person-centred care ensuring all practices reflects the privacy, dignity and respect of our residents and underpins all the basic values that contribute to an excellent quality of life Promoting the mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility is maintained and improved where possible Enabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance /hygiene needs Enabling and assisting residents to eat/drink and achieve physical comfort Participating, organising and carrying out social activities Sustaining high level of communication between resident’s family and staff, developing & maintaining good relationships Assisting in the upkeep of high standards of cleanliness in the home Contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the home Assist the management team during internal and external audits/inspections Any other duties deemed necessary by Nurse in Charge and management. Must be available to work day, night and weekend shifts on a fulltime basis. Qualifications/Skills FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare (completed or in progress) or equivalent Experience working in a healthcare environment (with a good knowledge of HIQA standards) Excellent communication skills Ability to maintain a positive approach in a sometimes-challenging environment Caring and empathetic nature Fluent level of English both written and oral Right to work in Ireland What do we offer?
