Bishopscourt Nursing Home Ltd is a vibrant forward-thinking Nursing Home. Modern and purpose built specifically to cater to the needs of our residents. Based in Waterfall, Cork. Own transport required. We are currently looking for friendly, reliable and flexible care assistants to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive environment whilst working with an experienced team of Healthcare Professionals.
The role reports to the Nurse in Charge and is responsible to the Director of Nursing.

Job description.
Supporting the nursing staff and team in delivering high quality person-centred care to meet all care needs of’ residents 
Getting to know residents’ interests and needs, providing attention and support. 
Promoting the mobility of residents, supervising, and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility is maintained and improved where possible Enabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance /hygiene needs while always maintaining their dignity. 
Communicating with nurses regarding resident's condition or any aspect of resident's daily life Provide personal assistance in all aspects or’ personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort and hygiene of service users and always adhering to safe practice. 
Participating, organizing, and carrying out social activities Sustaining high level of communication between resident's family and staff developing good relationships 
Assisting in the upkeep of high standards of cleanliness in the home Contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety the home Any other duties deemed necessary by Nurse in Charge and management.

Qualifications required.
FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare or equivalent. 
Experience working in a healthcare environment (with a good knowledge of HIQA standards) preferable Have an outgoing, friendly, and caring personality with excellent communication skills Reliable and professional 
Can work independently or part of a team Have a strong desire to support people. 
Are reliable and trustworthy with strong sense o1 empathy. Ability to maintain a positive outlook Fluent level of English both written and oral
