Social Care Leader Jobs Westmeath | Community & Residential Care Role

We are recruiting a Social Care Leader to support young people and families within a community and residential care setting in Westmeath. This is a senior, hands-on role combining direct care delivery with team leadership, ensuring safe, structured and person-centred support across services.

Working across Mullingar and Athlone, this role plays a key part in promoting stability, safeguarding and positive outcomes for young people affected by substance and alcohol misuse.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, person-centred care supporting daily living, wellbeing and recovery
Lead, supervise and mentor social care staff, promoting best practice and consistency
Develop, implement and review individualised care and support plans
Act as a key point of contact for families, guardians and external agencies
Liaise with CAMHS, Tusla, schools, youth services and healthcare professionals
Ensure full compliance with HIQA standards, safeguarding and Children First legislation
Maintain accurate, confidential records and contribute to case reviews and conferences
Promote independence, resilience and positive life skills for service users
Requirements
Level 7 qualification in Social Care or related discipline
Minimum 3 years’ experience in social care, including leadership or supervisory duties
Strong understanding of HIQA, safeguarding and child protection
Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
Full driving licence desirable
Legal right to work in Ireland required
Garda Vetting is mandatory for relevant roles.
International Police Clearance is required where a candidate has lived or worked outside Ireland for 6 months or more since the age of 16
