Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Western Alzheimers is currently recruiting for Healthcare Support Assistants within our in-home Respite Sitter Service. This is a Community Employment Placement and a great opportunity for someone looking to return to work, up-skill and gain further experience working with our elderly clients, who reside in their own homes where we provide a person-centered healthcare setting.

Are you someonewho enjoys using your initative, creativity and talents, Our In-home respite sitter service may be the perfect job for you, while also allowing you to further your career, by participating in healthcare support training which will help you achieve your QQI /FETAC Level 5. Coaching and mentoring will be provided, to develop your confidence and competencies within your role.

 Duties include caring for people with Alzheimers Disease/Dementia, assisting with personal care, preparing meals, social engagement, stimulating therapeutic activities etc.
