Job Overview

Hibernia Steel Products Ltd. are seeking skilled and experienced Metal CNC Operators to join a dynamic manufacturing

team in Ireland. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Light Gauge Steel (LGS), CNC

machine operation, blueprint reading, and precision fabrication. This role is critical in ensuring

high-quality production of steel components used in construction and industrial applications.

Core Technical Expertise

Light Gauge Steel (LGS) Knowledge

Strong understanding of cold-formed steel properties and fabrication techniques.

Experience working with LGS materials used in cladding, roofing, and framing.

Precision Measurement & Blueprint Reading

Proficient in using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape

measures to verify tolerances and dimensions.

Solid understanding of geometric angles, especially those relevant to steel bending and

folding (e.g., 90° bends, custom flashings).

Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, shop drawings, and CAD

specifications, translating them into correct machine settings and outputs.

Machine Operation

Proven experience operating CNC press brakes or folders for LGS fabrication.

Knowledge of roll-forming principles, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of

box profile and corrugated sheet roll-forming lines.

Experience with automated cut-to-length lines for precision steel coil cutting and

sequencing.

Fabrication & Quality Skills

Steel Fabrication Processes

Familiarity with cutting, bending, forming, and finishing steel components.

Strong understanding of fabrication tolerances, especially for light gauge steel.

Quality Control (QC)

Commitment to delivering accurate results on the first attempt.

Ability to perform in-process and final inspections to ensure all finished profiles meet

required specifications for dimension, angle, and surface quality.

Material Handling

Skilled in safely handling steel coils, sheets, and finished steel profiles.

Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts (certification an advantage).

Desirable Soft Skills & Attributes

Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve machine

or material issues on the production line.

Adaptability & Multi-Skilling: Willingness to work across multiple stations, including

CNC, cut line, and roll-forming operations.

Safety-Focused: Strict adherence to factory safety protocols, with strong awareness of

risks associated with heavy machinery and steel handling.
