This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.


City Centre shoe shop looking for full time sales assistant. Responsibilities include helping customers, tidying shop and stock rooms, fixing displays and opening deliveries.
This is a training and work experience opportunity for a Retail Assistant. The successful candidate must have an interest in the retail sector and will be assisted by a supportive team. Participant will be assigned a mentor who will help the trainee develop new skills and gain experience in a busy environment. This role is 100% focused on training and development. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop a broad range of professional skills while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment. No previous experience is required but good English is essential—we are looking for a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!  

What You Will Learn:

•	Operational Support: Assisting with stock deliveries, learn how to create window and shop floor displays. Learn how to process payments and record sales.

•	Customer Engagement:  Learning how to greet and assist customers with queries.

•	Product Knowledge:  Become familiar with the different brands, sizing conversions and best practice for looking after the products.

•	Stock Room Maintenance: Assist with implementing high standards of cleanliness in the stock room and on the shop floor to ensure a clean and organised shopping environment. Will also include sorting, pricing and preparing stock for the shop floor

•	 Health & Safety:  Shadowing staff when retrieving stock from high shelves, using ladders or steps as necessary.
