Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. 

The Support Worker will assist Adults with intellectual disabilities in providing practical and emotional support through their work in the coffee dock, through their participation in programmes/activities and supports organised/provided through SFRC.  Including providing practical and emotional support.  Encouraging personal development and self-esteem.
Assist the Learning Disability Coordinator in programmes for adults with disabilities run by Sligo FRC.
Engaging with local recreational activities and supporting adults with intellectual disabilities in their participation.
Supporting adults in developing skills in the food service industry.
Supporting existing workers engaged in the work with adults with intellectual disabilities.
Confidentiality and respect of the privacy of trainees to be observed at all times.
