First Year Apprentice Vacancy
Wills Bros Ltd is one of Ireland’s leading civil engineering contractors, delivering major infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, marine works, and large-scale transportation developments.
We are currently recruiting Civil Engineering Apprentices to join our team starting September 2026.
This programme offers an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn, combining hands-on experience on real construction projects with academic study.

Apprenticeship Programme
* Our apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with:
* Atlantic Technological University (Sligo or Galway)
* Munster Technological University (Cork)
* During the programme you will gain practical experience on active construction sites while studying towards a recognised engineering    qualification.
* Upon completion, apprentices will have the educational foundation to pursue professional registration with Engineers Ireland.

What You’ll Gain Experience In
* Working alongside experienced engineers and site teams, you will learn how major infrastructure projects are delivered. 
* Setting out and dimensional control of site works
* Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
* Supporting site planning and coordination activities
* Assisting engineers and construction managers with project delivery
* Carrying out quality checks and site inspections
* Learning health and safety procedures on large construction projects
* Supporting surveying and monitoring activities
* As your experience grows, you will also gain exposure to:
* Construction planning and sequencing
* Temporary works inspections
* Risk assessments and method statements
* Quality assurance processes and site documentation
* Engineering problem solving on live projects

Qualification
On successful completion of the programme you will receive either:
* QQI Level 6 Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering, or
* QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering
* depending on programme progression.

Location
* You will gain experience on Wills Bros projects across Ireland.
* A willingness to travel to different project locations is essential.
* A full clean driving licence is required.

Who Should Apply?
* We are looking for candidates who:
* Have a minimum Pass in Maths at Level 5 (or equivalent)
* Are interested in engineering, construction, and infrastructure
* Enjoy practical, hands-on work
* Are motivated to develop a career in civil engineering
* No previous experience is required.
