Shamrock recruitment limited is a company based in Tipperary is recruiting for the position of welder/fitter. We are currently seeking experienced welder and fitter to join out team. PIPE WELDER The Pipe Welder will be responsible for carrying out high-quality TIG welding of stainless steel and carbon steel pipework systems in accordance with approved welding procedures, engineering drawings, and industry standards in sectors including pharmaceutical, life sciences, food & beverage, oil refineries and advanced manufacturing. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES *Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel pipe. *Carry out manual welding as required. *Weld to approved WPS and in line with ASME / EN / ISO standards. *Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and weld maps. *Prepare pipe for welding (beveling, purging, alignment). *Ensure proper purge procedures are followed. *Maintain high standards of weld quality to pass visual and NDT inspections. *Complete weld traceability documentation and QA records. *Work closely with pipe fitters, supervisors, and QA teams. *Adhere strictly to site safety policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS *Minimum 5+years experience. *Trade qualified Welder or equivalent demonstrable experience. *Valid TIG welding certifications *Proven experience welding stainless steel and carbon steel pipework. *Strong understanding of weld purge techniques. *Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. PIPE FITTER The pipe fitter will be responsible for the fabrication, installation, and testing of stainless steel and carbon steel pipe systems in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards. The role requires a high level of precision, safety awareness, and experience working on hygienic and high-purity systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES *Read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and layout drawings. *Fabricate and install stainless stee and carbon steel pipework systems. *Work with welders and coordinate with coded TIG welders. *Measure, cut, bevel, and prepare stainless steel and carbon steel pipe to specification. *Install supports, brackets, and hangers in line with project requirements. *Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing. *Ensure installations comply with industry standards (ASME, ISO, EN standards as applicable). *Maintain high standards of quality. *Adhere strictly to site safety regulations and company HSE policies. *Complete documentation and quality records as required. *Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, welders, and other trades. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Trade qualified Pipe Fitter / Mechanical Fitter (National Craft Certificate or equivalent). Minimum 5+years experience working with stainless steel and carbon steel pipework. *Experience in pharmaceutical, food processing, or similar regulated environments. *Strong understanding of isometric drawings and P&IDS. *Safe Pass(mandatory) *Manual handling certificate. *Abrasive wheel training.
