Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
Applicants must have a motivation to learn and an interest in food and cooking. They should be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the role, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. . The role of the Catering assistant will be to support the work of the Clare Youth Service by undertaking a wide range of Catering/ Coffee Shop related tasks. Duties will range from: Planning menus in consultation with Manager and Catering staff Producing foods for breakfast, lunch Assisting with daily food preparation Washing up Cleaning kitchens Taking care of all aspects of hygiene Collection and disposal of waste Assisting with detailed stock takes Helping unload deliveries from suppliers. Assist in the Coffee Bar, with Set-up, Food Service and Till operation Completing compulsory Food Hygiene Course and all other relevant training All other necessary catering tasks Applicant must be able to communicate and liaise with staff/young people/volunteers/general public in an appropriate manner at all times. Applicants will be required to complete a Garda Vetting Application form. A minimum English language and literacy competency of B1 in writing, reading, listening, and speaking on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) is required at entry to the programme for speakers of English as a second language.
