Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.



Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career. 

The Catering Assistants will work as part of the catering team producing meals, nutritious snacks and baked goods across the whole client base of the Centres.

The Catering Assistants will report to the Head of Catering on a day-to-day basis and to the CE Supervisor regarding working conditions, holidays, etc. Workers will be supported to develop tailored training plans.

Key Areas of work:
	As part of a team producing meals for the meals on wheels services tailored to specific dietary requirements
	Producing meals and snacks for the under 6s
	Producing meals and snacks for school age children
	Producing meals for the clubs and groups
	Serving clubs and group
	Catering for meetings and events
	Cleaning and ensure kitchens are maintained to regulation standards
	Ensure full compliance with HACCP system
	Store food safely
	Wear required clothing and keep clean

Other Tasks: 
	Prepare dining area for children
	Prepare dining area for older people’s groups
	Wash and tidy up and clean dining area
	Clean kitchen thoroughly
	Deliver meals if appropriate
