This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
This Work Placement Experience Programme (WPEP) offers participants a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable learning, training and work experience within a busy warehouse environment. During this placement, participants will be mentored and assist with a wide range of warehouse operations including receiving goods, storage, stock rotation, dispatch and general housekeeping. You’ll gain practical experience in record keeping, health and safety and supporting our production team with fabric cutting and machine assistance (calendar and embroidery). This includes collaboration with colleagues across logistics and production functions. No previous experience is required — full training and support will be provided. You’ll have the opportunity to complete accredited learning through the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module, along with structured training in warehousing procedures, IT systems, goods handling, stock management processes. This placement provides a strong foundation for future employment in logistics, production, or warehousing.
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. Formal Training: - WPEP QQI Work Experience Module - All aspects of procedures for warehousing both physical and IT. - Goods-inwards/outwards - Complaints - Stock Take - Warehouse Cleaning; - Embroidery and machine training Informal Training: - Liaising with Colleagues - Courier bookings/maintenance
