Our client, Zinc Processors Limited t/a Shannonside Galvanising, based in Drombanna, Co. Limerick, is currently seeking Industrial Painters for immediate start at their two facilities in Co. Limerick.  

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 To paint interior & exterior of buildings, other structures and structural metal products 
 To prepare and apply industrial-grade coatings to metal products and structures, ensuring long-lasting corrosion protection before and after galvanising process 
 To prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, blasting, and priming as needed
 To use both standard latex-based paints and specialised paints for decorative and protective effect 
 To apply industrial coatings (e.g., epoxy, zinc-rich primers, polyurethane) using airless or conventional spray equipment
 To ensure even coverage and correct thickness of coatings in accordance with customer and industry specifications
 To use brushes, paint rollers and paint sprayers for different applications
 To operate and maintain painting equipment and spray booths

Key Requirements – Skills & Experience 

 Minimum 2 years' experience in industrial painting or similar role, ideally within a galvanizing or steel fabrication environment.
 A formal qualification is not required, but relevant certifications are always a plus 
 Knowledge of industrial paint types, surface preparation techniques, and application methods.
 Ability to read and interpret job specifications and technical drawings.
 Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
 Essential knowledge includes paint types
 Essential skills include cleaning painting equipment, disposing of hazardous & non-hazardous waste, and following health & safety procedures in construction and at heights  
 Further essential skills include inspection of paintwork, interpretation of 2D & 3D plans, and preparation of surfaces for painting
 Candidates must be competent to protect surfaces during construction work, remove paint, and sand between coats
 Candidates must have experience in snapping chalk line, using measurement instruments, and working safely with chemicals 
 Experience painting structures & metal products is a plus 



Annual remuneration: €36,605.00; Pay rate €18.05 per hour 

Work Locations – Zinc Processors Limited t/a Shannonside Galvanising at:
	- Four Elms, Drombanna, Co. Limerick
	- Gotoon, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick
