Thrive: Trinity College Dublin's Strategic Plan 2025 - 2030 Post ID: 039049 Post Summary: The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies (SLLCS) welcomes applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Teaching Fellow in Hispanic Studies. The purpose of this post is to provide temporary teaching and assessment support to the Discipline of Hispanic studies. The post-holder will provide teaching of modules at undergraduate and potentially postgraduate level, while also contributing to supervision at undergraduate and PGT levels (up to 12 hours per week) within the Department of Hispanic Studies in the School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies. This post would be key in supporting planned growth in the department of Hispanic Studies and the School. The School of Languages, Literatures and Cultural Studies (SLLCS) is home to 7 departments, 12 disciplines and 8 Centres. It is the premier School of Modern Language Studies in Ireland and ranked 58th in the world in the QS Subject Rankings 2025. The programme in Hispanic Studies offers a comprehensive coverage of periods and genres, from the medieval period until today in peninsular studies, and Latin American Studies across countries, periods and genres, as well as Latinx, and Chicanx studies in the US. The department has Spanish and Portuguese within its language offerings at present. Spanish is currently part of 22 undergraduate programmes. This includes 17 Trinity Joint Honours programmes (TJH), namely Spanish and: Ancient History and Archaeology, Classical Civilisation, Drama Studies, Economics, English Studies, Film, French, German, History, History of Art and Architecture, Italian, Linguistics, Mathematics, Middle Eastern Jewish and Islamic Civilisations, Music, Russian, and Sociology. Spanish is also part of the European Studies programme , and the Middle Eastern and European Languages and Cultures (MEELC) programme , both contributing to the Columbia Dual Degree Programme. It also offers the Business Studies and a Language (Spanish) (BSL) integrated programme with the Trinity Business School, and Computer Science, Linguistics and a Language (Spanish) (CSLL). Working closely with partners abroad is also a key component as our TJH programmes have an integrated third year spent abroad in a Spanish speaking country.
