As an Apprentice Manufacturing Technician, you will:

Support the operation and monitoring of processing equipment, including injection moulding and extrusion machines, to ensure efficient production of contact lenses.
Conduct regular inspections on raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Gather and record data related to production volumes, process parameters, and quality metrics, assisting in the analysis for continuous improvement purposes.
Participate in routine maintenance tasks, helping to keep machinery and equipment in good working condition.
Work alongside experienced technicians to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve production line issues promptly.
Follow all health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work collaboratively with colleagues in various roles, including engineers, production operators, and quality assurance personnel, to ensure smooth operations on the production floor.
Engage in on-the-job training programs to learn about materials, processing techniques, and industry standards related to medical device manufacturing.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting and implementing process enhancements and efficiency measures based on observations and training.
Required Qualifications:

Educational Background: Leaving Certificate, Grade 06 at ordinary level in 5 subjects, including a pass in Math and a language (English or Irish preferred)
Attitude: A positive demeanour and a hard-working ethos
Experience: Practical experience is desirable but not required
