The Staff Nurse (Person Centred) is responsible for delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes residents’ independence, dignity, and well-being. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure care is delivered in line with regulatory standards, organisational policies, and professional guidelines, while fostering a positive and respectful environment for residents, families, and colleagues. Key Responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care in line with residents’ individual needs, preferences, and abilities. Develop, maintain, and review person-centred care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date. Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively in accordance with relevant standards, guidelines, and organisational policies. Monitor residents’ health and well-being, recognising changes in condition and responding appropriately, including liaising with GPs and allied health professionals as required. Provide nursing care and support for residents with a range of needs, including those with complex conditions or receiving end-of-life care. Ensure effective communication and handover between shifts to maintain continuity of care. Maintain accurate records and report incidents, accidents, or concerns in line with procedures. Promote and safeguard the welfare of vulnerable adults, ensuring protection from abuse at all times. Comply with health and safety, infection control, and hygiene standards, ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Maintain confidentiality of all resident and organisational information. Ensure equipment is clean, safe, and well maintained, reporting any faults or concerns. Support the efficient use of resources and report any misuse or damage to equipment or supplies. Contribute to a positive team environment, supporting and guiding new staff and volunteers where appropriate. Demonstrate a strong person-centred approach by building respectful relationships, recognising the value of residents’ life histories, and responding to their emotional and social needs. Specification: Registered Nurse with current professional registration. Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of person-centred care principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful approach to care. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to continuous professional development. Flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of residents and the service.
