Temporary Contact (3 months) Office Furniture fitter required for a busy office fit out company based in Swords, Co. Dublin. Job Profile: Office Furniture Fitter. As an Office Furniture Fitter, you are the final link in the chain of creating a functional workspace. You aren’t just moving desks; you are interpreting floor plans, ensuring ergonomic standards are met, and transforming empty shells into productive environments. Role Overview The Office Furniture Fitter is responsible for the delivery, assembly, installation, and repair of various office furniture systems. This includes everything from modular workstations and ergonomic seating to high-end boardroom tables and acoustic partitioning. This role requires a blend of physical stamina, mechanical aptitude, and client-facing professionalism. Key Responsibilities Installation & Assembly: Build and install desks, chairs, storage units, and screen systems according to manufacturer specifications. Plan Interpretation: Read and interpret floor plans, and assembly instructions to ensure furniture is placed accurately. Loading & Transport: Safely load/unload furniture from delivery vehicles using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment (dollies, tail lifts).Site Management: Maintain a clean and safe workspace, disposing of packaging materials responsibly and ensuring no damage to the client’s property. Quality Control: Conduct final inspections to ensure all furniture is level, stable, and fully functional (e.g., drawers slide smoothly, cable ports align). Client Interaction: Act as a brand ambassador on-site, answering client queries and conducting "walk-throughs" upon completion. Skills & Qualifications Requirement Description Technical Skills Proficiency with power tools (impact drivers, drills) and hand tools. Physical Fitness Ability to lift heavy items and remain active for 8-10 hour shifts. Attention to Detail Precision in levelling furniture and aligning modular components. Problem Solving Ability to adapt when on-site conditions don't match the floor plan. Certifications Valid Driver’s License, Manual Handling, Safe Pass (for construction sites) is a major plus. Working Conditions Environment: Predominantly indoor corporate offices, though often in "active" construction zones or refurbished spaces. Hours: 8.30am – 5pm. Early starts are common, and occasional evening or weekend work is often necessary to minimize disruption to the client's business operations.
