This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process. 


We are seeking a motivated individual to participate in our Work Placement and Experience Program for Labourer/Site Assistant. This hands-on program provides practical experience in the construction industry while developing essential skills and safety knowledge. 

The participant will be mentored and gain practical experience in:
- Assisting skilled tradespeople with various construction tasks 
- Loading and unloading building materials and equipment 
- Maintaining clean and organized work sites 
- Operating basic hand and power tools under supervision 
- Preparing construction sites (digging, levelling, clearing) 
- Following all safety protocols and procedures 
- General labour duties 

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. 
Participants will gain experience in: 
Construction Site Safety 
Proper use of tools and equipment 
Blueprint and plan reading basics 
Material Handling and storage.

 
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. This is an opportunity for participants eligible or who require the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.
