Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Project Support Worker to join CUMAS New Ross and their dedicated Care Team on our CE Programme. The successful candidate will assist in the provision of person-centred care, promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for individuals with intellectual, physical, or sensory disabilities in all aspects of daily living.

Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain a positive rapport with service users, encouraging participation in planned activities.
Support individuals to engage in activities within the service and in the wider community, such as visits to the library, cafés, cinema, and outdoor walks.
Work collaboratively with team members to plan, prepare, and deliver group projects and programmes.
Provide flexible and creative support to meet emerging needs within the service.
Drive service vehicles to facilitate service user outings (full valid driving licence required).
Assist and provide support with personal care tasks in a professional and respectful manner.
Liaise professionally with families, parents, social workers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Maintain dignity, courtesy, and respect in all interactions with clients and their families.
Adhere to all Health & Safety and Public Health guidelines.

Essential Requirements
Empathy, respect, and commitment to person-centred care.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to use initiative and creativity in supporting service user needs.
Full clean driving licence.
Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.

Desirable
Experience working in disability services or social care settings.
Relevant QQI Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
