Fernbrook, Good Shepherd Cork, provides emergency accommodation for up to 12 families experiencing homelessness. Cleaner role is to ensure a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across all areas of the facility, contributing to a safe, comfortable, and dignified environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

The work involving mornings and weekend work. 
Flexibility will be required during working hours.
Roles and Responsibilities;

	Clean and disinfect high-touch areas frequently, including door handles, handrails, light switches, and shared equipment.
	Maintain cleanliness of communal living spaces such as kitchens and kitchenettes, lounges, dining areas, laundry rooms, and play areas.
	Work respectfully in occupied spaces, being mindful of residents’ privacy, dignity, and personal belongings.
	Assist with room turnovers by cleaning and preparing rooms for new occupants to a high standard.
	Monitor and maintain stock levels of hygiene supplies, including soap, toilet paper, and cleaning products, and report shortages as needed.
	Work collaboratively with support staff and maintenance teams to ensure all areas are safe and well-maintained.
	Follow strict health, safety, and infection control procedures at all times.
	Remain vigilant to potential health and safety risks, ensuring correct reporting and safe disposal procedures are followed.
	Use personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately and in accordance with guidelines.
	Report safeguarding concerns, unusual incidents, damages, or maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate team members.
Key Requirements and attributes:

•	Previous cleaning experience in a residential, healthcare, or similar environment is desirable but not essential.
•	Good understanding of hygiene, health, and safety standards.
•	Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•	Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
•	Good communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with residents and colleagues.
•	Commitment to the vision, mission and values of Good Shepherd Cork.
