Healthcare Assistant (HCAs) provides essential, supervised personal care and daily living support to patients in home care settings. Key duties include assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and documenting care under the direction of Registered Manager. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Personal Care: Assisting with showering, bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, and continence care. Mobility Support: Helping residents/patients move around, using hoists or mobility aids safely, and assisting with exercises as directed. Nutrition and Diet: Assisting with meal preparation, serving food, and helping residents eat and drink to ensure proper dietary intake. Clinical Support (Supervised): Assisting Nurses with taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, weight), applying creams, changing dressings, and reporting on patient condition. Documentation: Updating patient records, checklists, and reporting any changes in physical or mental health to supervisors. Social and Emotional Care: Providing companionship, supporting social activities, and promoting independence. Environment Hygiene: Maintaining a clean and safe environment, including making beds and adhering to infection control protocols. Requirements and Qualifications Education: A certificate in Healthcare Support or equivalent is generally required. Previous experience in a care setting is required. Skills: Strong communication skills (written/spoken English), empathy, and ability to work as part of a team. Environment Settings: home care settings. Working Hours: Shift work is standard, which may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and nights.
