A Personal Care Worker (PCW) assists elderly, ill, or disabled individuals with daily living activities and personal hygiene. Operating primarily in homes or care facilities, you will help clients maintain independence and quality of life by following individualized care plans.
Core responsibilities include:
Personal Hygiene: Assisting with bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Mobility & Health: Helping clients transfer in and out of bed, managing medications, and monitoring basic health changes.
Domestic Support: Preparing meals, washing dishes, changing bed linens, and running light errands.
Companionship: Providing emotional support, engaging in social activities, and assisting with transportation to appointments.
These are anticipated duties that may be required for Personal Care Worker (Home Support); this list is not exhaustive as there may be some specific needs of a client at a point in time.
