First Year Apprentice Vacancy We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and committed 1st Year Apprentice Hairdresser to join our professional salon team. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are passionate about hairdressing and want to develop their skills through the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship. Apprentices will receive structured on-the-job training, supervised salon experience and support from our qualified and highly experienced Workplace Mentors. We are looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn, reliable, professional and committed to building a long-term career in hairdressing. Key Responsibilities The Apprentice Hairdresser will support the salon team while developing practical skills and professional knowledge in all areas of hairdressing. Duties will include: -Assisting senior stylists and colourists with daily salon services -Greeting clients and helping to provide a professional, welcoming salon experience -Shampooing, conditioning and carrying out basic scalp treatments -Preparing clients for cutting, colouring, styling and treatment services -Blow-drying and styling hair under supervision, according to skill level -Supporting colour preparation and application under supervision -Learning cutting, colouring, styling and consultation techniques -Maintaining clean, tidy and hygienic workstations -Sterilising and organising tools, equipment and salon areas -Preparing towels, gowns, products and equipment for services -Following salon health, safety and hygiene procedures -Attending required off-the-job training / college days as part of the apprenticeship -Completing workplace learning, assessments and apprenticeship requirements -Receiving feedback from Workplace Mentors and applying learning in the salon -Working as part of a team and supporting the smooth running of the salon A 1st Year Apprentice Hairdresser will be supported to learn the foundations of professional salon work. Responsibilities may include: • Learning salon routines, standards and professional conduct • Assisting stylists with client preparation and service support • Shampooing, conditioning and basic hair treatments • Maintaining salon cleanliness and presentation • Learning product knowledge and basic client care • Developing blow-drying, styling and sectioning skills • Observing and assisting with colour and cutting services • Building confidence in communication and customer service • Attending all required apprenticeship training and education sessions Candidate Requirements Essential • Genuine interest in hairdressing and the salon industry • Positive attitude and willingness to learn • Reliable, punctual and professional • Good communication and customer service skills • Ability to work well as part of a team • Commitment to completing the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship • Willingness to attend required off-the-job training / college daysFor more information please see apprenticeship.ie
