The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, inspection, diagnosis and repair of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), trailers and associated equipment. Duties will include: Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance on HGVs and trailers. Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment. Repairing and replacing vehicle components including engines, gearboxes, braking systems, suspension systems and steering components. Conducting vehicle inspections and preparing vehicles for CVRT testing. Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company procedures. Maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records. Responding to vehicle breakdowns and carrying out emergency repairs where required. Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements at all times. Relevant trade qualification as a Mechanic, Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years' experience repairing and maintaining heavy commercial vehicles. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and organisational skills. Full driving licence preferred. HGV licence would be advantageous.
