We are seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and professional transportation of horses throughout Ireland and to destinations across Europe. This role requires a high level of responsibility and professionalism.

The successful applicant will transport horses safely and efficiently to competitions, sales, breeding facilities, veterinary clinics and other locations throughout Ireland and internationally. Duties will include carrying out daily vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with road transport regulations, loading and unloading horses, securing animals appropriately for transport, and monitoring their welfare throughout each journey.

The role also involves completing transport documentation and delivery records, maintaining vehicles and transport equipment in a clean and roadworthy condition, planning routes and schedules, and ensuring all journeys are completed in accordance with EU Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive requirements and all relevant transport legislation. The driver will be required to communicate professionally with clients, event organisers, veterinary personnel and other stakeholders.

Applicants must hold a valid Category C or CE driving licence, a current Driver CPC qualification and a valid Digital Tachograph Card. Previous experience driving HGV vehicles is essential, while experience handling and transporting horses would be advantageous. Candidates should possess good communication and organisational skills, be capable of working independently, and be willing to undertake flexible working hours, including overnight and international travel when required.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain the highest standards of road safety, customer service and animal welfare while representing the company throughout Ireland and Europe
