First Year Apprentice Vacancy The Role Due to continuous growth within the company, Murphy Ireland are currently looking for Apprentice Pipefitter(s) to join and contribute towards some new and exciting projects. Please note that travel is required Key Responsibilities Assist in the fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of high- and low-pressure piping systems. Support experienced pipefitters in measuring, cutting, prepping, threading, and assembly of pipe fabrications of varying sizes (from small-bore to large-diameter systems). Help install piping systems that carry liquids, gases, and other materials in accordance with technical drawings and specifications. Participate in welding, fabrication, and fitting activities under supervision. Learn to interpret and follow engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and isometric diagrams. Use and maintain a range of hand tools, power tools, and specialised pipefitting equipment safely and effectively. Assist in testing, inspecting, and troubleshooting piping systems to identify faults or leaks. Support routine preventative maintenance activities to ensure system reliability and safety. Maintain a high level of Health and Safety which includes the proper use of PPE. Adhere to work instructions and procedures. Meet daily, weekly and monthly targets. Keep site and fabshop clean and safe to operate in. Key Requirements Qualifications & Skills: Must be eligible to register as a pipefitting apprentice with SOLAS The minimum educational requirements are: Grade D in five subjects in the Department of Education & Skills Junior Certificate Examination or an approved equivalent, or 2. The successful completion of an approved Pre-Apprenticeship course or 3. Three years’ work experience gained over sixteen years of age in a relevant designated industrial activity as SOLAS shall deem acceptable. Safe Pass, Manual Handling and Abrasive Wheels Leaving Certificate with O6 – O1 in Maths (desirable but not required).
