We are seeking experienced Formwork Carpenters to join our team delivering specialist concrete construction, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects throughout Ireland. The successful candidates will work on projects involving slipform kerbing, reinforced concrete structures, road and motorway infrastructure, commercial developments, residential schemes, public realm works, and civil engineering projects. As part of a skilled construction team, the Formwork Carpenter will contribute to delivering projects that require precision concrete construction. They will assemble and install formwork systems in accordance with project specifications, engineering requirements, and programme deadlines. The role may involve working on national road schemes, housing developments, industrial facilities, commercial projects, public infrastructure, and specialist kerbing works throughout Ireland. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and formwork layouts. Construct and assemble timber and proprietary formwork systems to required dimensions and tolerances. Install formwork for reinforced concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams, slabs, and retaining structures. Set out and position formwork accurately using levels, laser equipment, and measuring tools. Ensure formwork is plumb, level, secure, and capable of supporting concrete loads. Assist with concrete pours and monitor formwork stability during placement operations. Strip, dismantle, and clean the formwork after the concrete has cured. Repair, modify, and maintain formwork systems for reuse. Work closely with engineers, site managers, steel fixers, concrete operatives, and other construction personnel. Follow all site-specific quality assurance and health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times. Participate in toolbox talks and site safety briefings. Essential Requirements Proven experience on reinforced concrete construction projects. Ability to read and work from construction drawings and technical specifications. Experience installing wall, column, beam, slab, and foundation formwork. Good understanding of concrete construction methods and temporary works. Strong awareness of health and safety requirements on construction sites. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary construction team. Desirable Requirements Trade qualification in Carpentry, Formwork, Construction, or a related discipline. Experience on large-scale commercial, residential, healthcare, educational, or civil engineering projects. Safe Pass certification or willingness to obtain. Manual Handling certification or willingness to obtain. Experience using laser levels and surveying equipment. Ability to supervise junior operatives when required. Working Hours - Minimum 39 hours per week.
