We are seeking a skilled and motivated HGV / Bus Mechanic. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, and repair of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and buses, ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and roadworthiness.

Requirements:
Qualified mechanic with relevant certification in Heavy Vehicle, HGV, Bus, or Commercial Vehicle Maintenance.
Proven experience working on HGVs, buses, coaches, or commercial vehicles.
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Good understanding of vehicle electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Full driving licence (Category C or D licence desirable).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and buses.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
Perform vehicle inspections in accordance with manufacturer specifications and legal requirements.
Conduct preventative maintenance to minimise vehicle downtime.
Repair or replace defective components including engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
Complete all maintenance records, job cards, and inspection reports accurately.
Ensure compliance with road transport regulations, health and safety procedures, and company policies.
Respond to vehicle breakdowns and carry out emergency repairs when required.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Work collaboratively with other mechanics, drivers, and management to ensure fleet availability.
