Assistant Lecturer in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry / Chemical Forensic Analysis) (Permanent Wholetime) Reference: 421b/2025
The Schl of Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic 
team player to the position of Assistant Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry/Forensic Analysis on a 
specified purpose wholetime basis. The candidate will have expertise in Analytical Chemistry and 
Forensic Analysis and aligned to TU Dublin’s Strategic Intent 2030. These areas of expertise will 
include, but are not limited to, analytical chemistry and forensic analysis. Candidates should have 
a proven track record of research and scholarly activities, specifically in Analytical and Forensic 
Chemistry which will support the research and scholarly activities of the School. The person 
appointed will contribute strongly to teaching and assessing, particularly across the School’s 
undergraduate programmes. In addition to teaching and research, the role will involve curriculum 
development, particularly the expansion and integration analytical chemistry into our programmes, 
programme management and administration, and pastoral care of students. An industry 
background and familiarisation with modern teaching and assessment methods including on-line 
teaching and assessment would be advantageous. Engagement with industry, community and/or 
professional bodies is desirable. The successful candidate will be required to be flexible and work 
on their own initiative as well as contributing to a team of professionals. The School is seeking an 
enthusiastic team player with the ability to network with colleagues and other stakeholders. The 
candidate should have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Communication with 
students is particularly important.

Hours of Work: This is a wholetime post. In addition to teaching hours (up to 18 hours per week), attendance is required from Monday to Friday during the general working hours of the School and Faculty.

Location: The post will be based at one of the TU Dublin Campuses i.e. Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Grangegorman, Blanchardstown or Tallaght. Regular attendance at other sites will be required.

Salary: 
It is expected that appointees will commence at point 01 of the relevant pay scale i.e 
• € 52,181 - € 64,372
• €47,572- € 64,372 (New Entrants)
