You will be responsible for programming, setting, proving out, and optimizing Swiss-type CNC machines used in the manufacture of precision machined components. The key requirements of this role are developing robust machining processes, improving productivity, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and maintaining consistent quality while working to tight tolerances across a range of metals and polymers. Competencies Technical qualification or equivalent experience in Precision Swiss Machining, Manufacturing, or related discipline highly desirable. Proven experience as a Swiss CNC Programmer in a high-precision manufacturing environment (medical device experience preferred). Extensive experience programming and setting Swiss-type CNC machines such as: Citizen L and M -Series Traub Series Strong understanding of: Fanuc Controls Mitsubishi Controls Traub TX8i Controls Strong understanding of CNC precision machining and Swiss turning operations. Demonstrated ability to work with tight tolerances (±0.005mm or tighter) and complex geometries. Hands-on experience machining titanium, stainless steel, aluminium, and engineering polymers. Comfortable with GD&T, engineering drawings, and dimensional inspection techniques. Strong troubleshooting and process optimisation skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Key Duties / Responsibilities: Develop, test, and optimise CNC programs for Swiss-type CNC machines to produce precision machined components. Perform machine setups, prove-outs, and process validation for new and existing products. Interpret technical drawings and specifications to generate accurate and efficient machining processes. Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies for a variety of metals and polymers. Support production by troubleshooting machining, tooling, and process-related issues. Continuously review and improve machining strategies to reduce cycle times, improve surface finish, and optimise tool life. Monitor process performance and implement improvements to increase productivity and process stability. Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and on-time delivery. Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setup sheets, tooling requirements, and process improvements. Support operator training and provide technical guidance where required. Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and other applicable quality standards.
