FLI Precast Solutions design and manufacture precast concrete elements for a variety of applications in the Data, Energy, Water and Aviation Industries in Ireland, UK and Europe. We provide a service to clients which allows traditional in-situ built concrete infrastructure such as large chambers, tanks, cable troughs, architectural retaining walls, piers and other heavy civils products to be manufactured off site within our three production halls at our twenty-two-acre plant in Ballon, Co. Carlow. Roles and Responsibilities: Interpret manufacturing drawings, understanding the nuances of custom formwork components required to cast the final precast concrete product. Convert information in manufacturing drawings into a part list of mould components parts required to build the formwork. Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly. Pallet and label mould components. Develop and trial proto-type mould designs to develop standard templates. Liaise with wider carpentry team regarding mould designs. Ensure shuttering is suitable to achieve the required quality standard for each precast product to be manufactured. Operation of hand tools. Operation of machines such as forklift, gantry cranes or any other machinery deemed necessary (training will be provided). Performance of daily pre-start safety checks. Performance of basic machine cleaning and maintenance. Performance of all tasks per health, safety and quality standards and act as a role model for such practices within team. Ensure work area is kept clean and clutter/hazard free. Assist in basic on-the-job training of new operatives in the carpentry team. Actively learn from senior members of team. Assist in other areas of the factory when required. Completion of reasonable overtime on weekdays and weekends. Completion of any other reasonable tasks which may be assigned by the Line Manager and/or their designees. Completion of reasonable overtime on weekdays and weekends. Completion of other reasonable tasks which may be assigned by the line manager and/or their designees. The Ideal Candidate: NFQ level 6 trade in carpentry or equivalent desirable. Prior experience in shuttering carpentry essential. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment an advantage. Awareness and respect for health and safety rules and procedures. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship. Results-driven approach. Strong problem-solving skills with ability to trouble shoot issues. Ability to perform quality work adhering to deadlines, with or without direct supervision. Ability to work on own initiative and as well as part of a team. Flexibility of duties and working hours. Proven record of good timekeeping and attendance. Good command of the English language, spoken and written, is essential.
