Job Description
Ballyhavil Ltd trading as St Ursula’s Nursing Home is seeking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join our care team at St Ursula’s Nursing Home, Golf Links Road, Bettystown, Co. Meath.

The successful candidate will support the Nursing Team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to residents in a nursing home environment. Duties will include assisting residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration, hygiene, comfort, and companionship.

The Healthcare Assistant will support residents respectfully and professionally, maintaining dignity, privacy, independence, and wellbeing at all times. The role will also involve assisting with resident routines, supporting end-of-life care where required, observing and reporting changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff, maintaining a clean and safe care environment, attending mandatory training, and carrying out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Director of Nursing or the nursing team.

The successful candidate should be reliable, compassionate, professional, and able to work as part of a multidisciplinary care team.

Salary: €32,691 per annum
Hourly Rate: €16.12 per hour
Hours: 39 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent, full-time

Candidate Requirements
Essential
Minimum experience required: 1 year in a healthcare, nursing home, residential care, hospital, or similar care environment.

Minimum Qualification: No formal qualification required; however, QQI/FETAC Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent is desirable.

Desirable
QQI/FETAC Level 5 Healthcare Support, Care Skills, Care of the Older Person, or equivalent healthcare-related training.

Ability Skills: Communication, interpersonal skills, resident care, teamwork.
Competency Skills: Flexibility, initiative, reliability, compassion, professionalism.
