Concrete Finisher About Nurney Plant and Civil Nurney Plant and Civil Ltd is a well-established civil engineering and plant hire contractor based in Nurney, Co. Carlow. We deliver groundworks, civil engineering and construction projects for clients across Ireland, and our experienced teams take pride in safe, high-quality workmanship. As our workload continues to grow, we are expanding our on-site teams across several major projects. The Role We are seeking experienced Concrete Finishers to deliver high-quality concrete finishes across a range of active projects. Key Responsibilities Place, level, screed, float and trowel-finish concrete to the required tolerances and surface finishes Form and finish slabs, foundations, floors, bases, paths and structural elements Operate power floats, trowels, screeds and other concrete finishing equipment Set out and check levels to ensure accurate, high-quality results Cure, protect and make good newly placed concrete Carry out quality and surface-finish checks and any remedial works required Work safely alongside groundworkers, pump operators and site management Essential Requirements Minimum 3 years’ experience as a concrete finisher on construction or civil engineering sites Valid SOLAS Safe Pass card Manual Handling certification Relevant CSCS ticket(s) Good knowledge of concrete finishes, curing methods and tolerances Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality Reliable team player with a strong safety focus Desirable Abrasive Wheels training Experience power floating large industrial floor slabs Full clean driving licence and own transport Our Current Projects Successful candidates will join our teams on a range of major projects currently underway, including: Newbridge – new school development Wexford – residential housing development Celbridge – new industrial unit What We Offer Full-time, permanent position Excellent rates of pay Ongoing, secure work across multiple long-term projects Supportive team environment with genuine opportunities for progression The chance to join a well-established and growing civil engineering and plant hire contractor How to Apply To apply, please send your CV along with details of your relevant experience and certification to info@nurneyplantandcivil.com.
