This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.


We are currently looking for applicants for the role of Food Service Assistant for the Work Placement Experience Programme. This is a training-and-experience role, and participants will be fully supported throughout the placement. 
The participant will receive training, mentoring, and hands-on experience from existing staff members in the following areas:
•	Barista skills and customer service
•	Food preparation
•	Taking customer orders
•	Operating the till and processing payments
•	Delivering food and beverages to tables
•	Clearing, cleaning, and preparing tables for service

Comprehensive training will be provided on all relevant systems and procedures. Upon completion of HACCP training, the participant will also gain experience working on the deli counter and develop a basic understanding of food preparation, food safety, and hygiene standards.

 
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP.

The participant will receive formal/informal training and mentoring in the following: 

Formal Training:
- HACCP Training (Food Hygiene and Safety) 
- Barista Service Informal 

Informal Training:
- Food Prep & Service 
- Customer Service 
- Cash Handling 
- Till Training & Operation
