Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

At DWCR, we work from a deeply trauma-informed, non-judgmental perspective to protect and empower women and children experiencing domestic violence. We are looking for an Assistant Social Care Worker to join our Core Support team. This is a dedicated developmental pathway designed to give you hands-on experience, accredited training, and the exact skills you need to land a permanent, full-time role in the social care sector.

Your Role & How You Will Make a Difference
Working alongside our experienced core team, you will listen to, support, and empower women who have been subjected to domestic violence. As you grow into the role, you will get hands-on experience with:

    Direct Engagement: Welcoming service users and providing vital emotional support.
    Case Management: Learning how to develop safety plans, support plans, and participate in Care Plan Reviews.
    Advocacy in Action: Assisting women with housing, healthcare, social welfare, and rights/entitlements.
    Community & Justice: Accompanying women to court and linking them with vital outreach supports and local networks.

About You
You do not need a background in social care—we hire for attitude and potential. We are looking for someone who has:

    A compassionate, empathetic, and open-minded approach.
    Basic computer familiarity (and a willingness to learn more).
    A strong desire to participate in all training related to the Refuge's vital work.
    The enthusiasm to collaborate on a personalized development plan with your CE Supervisor to unlock future employment opportunities.

    Note: As this is a CE Scheme position, standard DEASP eligibility criteria apply.
