Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

General Assistant: Kitchen 

CE General Assistant to assist the Chef in the Kitchen within its day service.  The NCBI Lochrann Centre provides day services for adults who are blind or vision impaired and our service users love socialising whilst having a good cuppa & freshly made dinner at lunch time. 

Duties will include (Training will be provided): 
- Undertaking lunch service 
- Assisting the chef in the safe running of the kitchen (adhering to HACCP & FASI guidelines) 
- Supporting the chef with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., washing, peeling, chopping).  
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in line with food safety standards.  
- Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.  
- Work as part of the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.  
- Socialising & engaging with service users when they are in service and providing sight guide support. 
- Completion of HACCP & engagement in ongoing training - opportunity to work towards QQI and/or Industry Standard qualifications.

- The ability to work as part of a team.  
- Willingness to engage in training & complete HACCP Qualification.
