Job Title: Sea Logistics Specialist Employer: Kuehne + Nagel Ireland Ltd Location: Unit D2 Horizon Logistics Park, Harristown, Swords - K67 A5W6 Annual Salary: €39,120 Hours: 39 hours per week Position Summary The Sea Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing international sea freight shipments, ensuring the efficient movement of cargo while maintaining high operational standards and excellent customer service. The role involves monitoring shipment progress, coordinating with carriers and internal departments, resolving operational issues, maintaining accurate shipping documentation and supporting continuous improvement of logistics processes. Main Duties and Responsibilities • Coordinate the end-to-end movement of international sea freight shipments from booking through to final delivery. • Monitor shipment progress and ensure transport milestones are achieved within agreed service levels. • Liaise with shipping lines, freight partners, customs brokers and internal operational teams to ensure the efficient execution of logistics activities. • Prepare, review and maintain shipping documentation and operational records in accordance with company procedures. • Update freight management systems with accurate shipment information and operational data. • Coordinate transport schedules and shipment requirements to support efficient supply chain operations. • Investigate shipment delays, operational discrepancies and service exceptions, implementing corrective actions where appropriate. • Support freight claims administration and assist with resolving operational issues affecting shipments. • Prepare operational reports and analyse shipment performance to identify opportunities for process improvements. • Maintain regular communication with customers regarding shipment status, documentation requirements and operational updates. • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are incorporated into logistics planning and execution. • Ensure compliance with company procedures, international shipping regulations, quality standards and Health & Safety requirements. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Essential Requirements • Previous experience in sea freight forwarding, international freight operations or logistics. • Knowledge of international import and export shipping processes. • Understanding of freight documentation and transport operations. • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word). • Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously while meeting operational deadlines. • Experience using freight forwarding or transport management systems would be an advantage.
