Position: Playworker
Duties of the role:
	Supervise and support children during play, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment at all times.
	Encourage children’s independence, self-confidence, and positive social interaction through creative and engaging play activities.
	Plan, organise, and lead a variety of age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, and language development.
	Provide play areas and prepare materials and equipment for a wide range of activities.
	Ensure all activities and environments comply with Health and Safety standards and
	organisational policies.
	Promote positive communication by listening to and engaging in respectful dialogue with children, intervening sensitively when needed.
	Maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring all toys and equipment are hygienic, safe, and free of damage.
	Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging play environment.
	Carry out any other reasonable duties as required to support the smooth running of the service.
Requirements:
	Minimum of 1 year’s experience working with children, ideally in an after-school setting. Experience in early learning or preschool settings is an advantage.
	Experience supporting children’s health, safety, and overall wellbeing.
	Ability to plan and supervise engaging play activities for children aged 4–12 years.
	Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
	Tusla Children First training (any relevant module) is an advantage.
	A Basic First Aid Certificate is an advantage.
	HACCP certification is an advantage.
	Understanding of GDPR and confidentiality principles is an advantage.
	Flexibility to work across different locations in Cork City and County, if required.
	The successful candidate will be motivated, caring, and reliable, with a genuine interest in supporting children’s development and wellbeing in an after-school environment.
Aged Childcare Setting.
Working Hours: 39 hours in total per week. Breakfast Club runs from 7am- 8:45am, After School 12:30pm-6:15pm. Non Contact Work may be required outside of Breakfast Club & After School Club also.
