# Job Description – Early Years Educator / Childcare Staff **Company:** Emerald Premier Staffing **Location:** Childcare settings throughout County Monaghan and surrounding areas **Employment Type:** Full-time, part-time and relief opportunities available **Reporting To:** Staffing Coordinator / Company Director ## About Emerald Premier Staffing Emerald Premier Staffing provides qualified and dependable childcare professionals to early years services, crèches, preschools and childcare facilities. We support childcare providers with planned, temporary, emergency, maternity and long-term staffing cover. We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Educators to join our growing team. ## Role Purpose The Early Years Educator will be assigned to different childcare settings according to service requirements. The successful candidate will provide safe, professional and child-centred care while supporting the daily routines, curriculum and policies of each childcare service. The educator must be adaptable, reliable and capable of integrating quickly into established childcare teams. ## Essential Qualifications and Experience Applicants must have: * A minimum recognised **QQI Level 5 Major Award in Early Childhood Care and Education**, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Department of Children, Disability and Equality. * A minimum of **two years’ relevant experience** working in a crèche, preschool, early years service or similar childcare environment. * Knowledge of the Aistear and Síolta frameworks. * Knowledge of the Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations and Tusla requirements. * A clear understanding of child safeguarding and Children First guidance. * Eligibility to work in Ireland. * The ability to successfully complete Garda Vetting and reference checks. ## Key Responsibilities The Early Years Educator will: * Provide high-quality care and education in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment. * Support children’s emotional, social, physical, creative and cognitive development. * Assist with the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities and learning experiences. * Follow the daily routines, curriculum and operational procedures of the assigned childcare service. * Supervise children carefully and maintain appropriate staff-to-child ratios. * Support children with meals, rest periods, toileting, personal care and hygiene routines where required. * Observe children’s development and report relevant information to the room leader or childcare manager. * Promote positive behaviour using respectful and age-appropriate approaches. * Maintain a clean, organised and stimulating childcare environment. * Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, infection prevention and emergency procedures. * Maintain children’s confidentiality and comply with data-protection requirements. * Communicate professionally with childcare managers, colleagues, parents and guardians.
