This Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
As a accommodation assistant you will play a part in supporting and maintaining a busy work environment and gaining valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of maintaining a high standard of hygiene within the hotel and resourcing all aspects of the accomadation area. This placement is designed to provide you with practical skills and knowledge in food storage and food service , hygiene management, stock management, and protocols. Exposure to industry-standard practices and procedures that can be applied in future roles. Supportive learning environment with guidance from experienced professionals in the field. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain valuable practical experience. The accomadation assistants will be support the general running of housekeeping areas. The participants will be trained & mentored in the following: • Maintaining a high standard of service provision • Appropriate use of materials and equipment. • Maintaining hygiene conditions of the area and other related areas • Minimising Health & Safety risks while undertaking duties. • Reporting defects or hazards on-site to management • Adhere to good practice with regard to hygiene, health and safety..
This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector recognised training will be provided to support your placement. Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module which was developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection. 20 hours accredited from QQI and 40 hours on-the-job/general training. This optional module will fulfil your accredited training requirements for the WPEP. The participants will receive formal/informal training and mentoring in the following: Formal Training: Manual Handling training Accredited Standard operation procedures training Stock rotation training Informal Training: Workspace hygiene Effective Communication Skills Team work Customer Service
