Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals for residents, staff, and visitors.
Plan and develop varied menus in consultation with management and dietitians.
Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets, diabetic, gluten-free, and allergy-specific meals.
Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness in accordance with HACCP and Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) guidelines.
Monitor food quality, storage, stock rotation, and portion control.
Order food supplies and manage kitchen inventory to minimise waste.
Supervise and support kitchen assistants and other catering staff.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately.
Comply with all health and safety, infection prevention and control, and fire safety procedures.
Work collaboratively with nursing staff and management to meet residents' nutritional needs.
Maintain accurate food temperature, cleaning, and HACCP records.
